Engineering Apprentice Content/Planning Manager

About the job

To ensure the existing theoretical learning is directly transferred into practical experiences across our depots to ensure our future Engineers gain the required skills, knowledge and experience to make technological advances and to match the Engineering Councils competence requirements

What you'll be doing

Your main responsibilities will be:

    • Engaging people to create a positive environment for our young future Engineers.
    • Breaking down the National Standards to match practical experience on the depot
    • Create plans for the duration of the Apprenticeship
    • Standardise Engineering's approach to delivery
    • Work alongside external parties to create ‘off site' experiences


About you

You'll need to be:

  • Focused and driven to deliver the agreed remit.
  • Flexible – travelling will be a requirement of this role.
  • Experienced in working with young Engineers
  • Consciences and thorough
  • Motivated to create a culture of continuous improvement

As a minimum you'll need to have:

  • Previous experience of establishing relationships with customers, colleagues and suppliers
  • In depth knowledge of Apprenticeship standards and delivery model(s)
  • Technically competent as per SMS-0853-00 and be able to teach these skills
  • Excellent planning and communication skills
  • Self-motivated / driven

About the location:

The location of this post is to be in the South West area as most of the discussions will revolve around Exeter College and the existing Learning and Development team (some of which are located in Plymouth) so would suggest maximum of an hour travelling time from these locations.

Working Pattern:

Most of the workload is to be done on days but this is to be flexible
