PSV/HGV Mechanic

Do you want to be part of our energetic team of Engineers and maintenance staff repairing our fleet of vehicles?

If yes, then we might just have the job for you! We are looking for a skilled PSV/HGV Mechanic/Technician to join our busy Engineering team in Norwich

As a Skilled Mechanic you will be working 39 hours per week and the hourly rate for this role is £13.05 (£26,500 per annum).

What will you be doing?

The successful Mechanic/Technician will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Diagnose and carry out vehicle repairs, servicing and parts replacement
  • Diagnose vehicle faults and specify the correct method of repair and parts to be used
  • Carry out vehicle servicing and routine vehicle examinations using hand held data capture devices if applicable
  • Attend on-road vehicle breakdowns and recoveries
  • Carry out vehicle road testing where necessary to determine specific vehicle defects or following remedial repair

Who are we looking for?

You will have a flexible approach to working and have a minimum Level 3 NVQ standard or equivalent, welding experience is preferable and you must be in possession of, or capable of obtaining a full PCV and FLT licence. The successful candidate will hold a full PCV license or be able to obtain one in a reasonable timeframe.  A good understanding of vehicle repair techniques is essential for this post. This is a full time role working 39 hours per week, 5 days out of 7, on a shift basis.
